Jakub Chytil earned his doctor of law degree at the Law Faculty of Charles University, Prague. In the years 1991 – 1995, he was a junior associate; later on – as an attorney – he specialized in commercial and civil law and cooperated with international legal firms. Between 1995 and 2000, he was a Corporate Legal Counsel for Philip Morris ČR and Kraft Foods for the Czech Republic and Slovak Republic. Later on, in the years 2000 – 2003 he occupied the position of a Senior Counsel of Philip Morris International-Lausanne, Switzerland, and was responsible for legal support of Philip Morris International operations in various countries. Since he joined ČESKÝ TELECOM (the legal predecessor of Telefónica Czech Republic) in December 2003, he has occupied the position of General Counsel, in 2006 he was appointed also the company’s secretary.
